Comfort, insulation, performance and safety are the keywords that Asolo decided to develop on its winter collection.
Asolo Team is pleased to present the technologies that we adopted for the models that are specifically designed for winter adventures: Arctic GV, Nuuk GV and Narvik GV.
Let’s discover them together!
Bill and Vieve Gore launched the Gore-tex brand in their home in Newark, Delaware, after having discovered and patented in 1969 the expanded PTFE (polymer polytetrafluoroethylene): an incredibly strong, microporous material with low water adsorption and good weathering properties. After the first Gore-Tex breathable, waterproof and windproof fabric was in the market, the brand expands over the years its revolutionary range of products: from jackets to gloves, from packs to footwear.
Boots engineered with Gore-Tex Insulated Comfort Footwear technology are designed for outdoor use in rain, snow and cold conditions. The Gore-Tex Insulated lining offers optimal heat retention to keep you dry and comfortable during a wide range of conditions and outdoor activities expecially in the winter season.
As every Gore-Tex lining it assures an optimum combination of optimized breathability and durable waterproof protection, but it also let outside water and snow while the perspiration escapes from the inside. The insulated inner lining offers a reliable protection from the cold during the outdoor activities.
All components (leathers, textiles, laces, foams, and threads) and the entire shoe construction itself are precisely coordinated and subjected to regular quality inspections.
Moreover, all Gore-Tex products carry their GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY™ promise.
In 1935, tragedy drives the Italian mountaineer Vitale Bramani to develop an outsole capable of excellent traction on mixed surfaces. Using vulcanized rubber technology, he developed and patented in 1937 the Carrarmato design. Until today, Vibram remains one of the most specialized in soles production by using different models for each type of expedition and introduced the concept of grip by producing super-adherent rubber soles, which are the most used by mountain climbers and hikers.
Vibram Arctic Grip is the perfect technology for the winter footwear and the most advanced cold weather gripping compound created by Vibram.
The technology combine a Vibram compound optimized for quality, durability and all-round performance, with an advanced filler system made of rubber compound which provides unparalleled grip on cold, snowy or iced surfaces – specifically on wet ice.
The Vibram Arctic Grip is entirely rubber material without addition of metal components or inserts. The design of the sole features wide contact areas with the ground and rubber lugs with wider support surfaces.
After a tragic avalanche accident, Magnus Granhead started developing a system to guarantee the best methods of rescue and research in the mountains and founded Recco AB in 1982. Over the years lighter and more powerful models of Recco detectors were developed and from 2014 the first prototype of the helicopter detector is tested. Recco is now providing a system for search and rescue all year round and more brands are integrating Recco reflectors into mountains clothing and gear.
RECCO technology, first introduced in 1983, is a standard tool for the safety in the mountains: a small reflector which is included in the outdoor gear or footwear in order to make you searchable and to be located by professional rescuers in the event of an avalanche accident or when lost in the outdoors.
The technology is a two-part system: the detector sends out a directional radar signal like the beam of a flash light while, once the radar beam hits the RECCO reflector, the signal is echoed back and directs the rescuer to your location.
The reflector is a small band aid sized, passive electronic transponder that weighs less than 4 grams, factory mounted permanently to clothing and gear that in unlikely to be torn off in the event of an avalanche or other accident. It is a non-powered device: it never needs to be switched on, it will never loose signal strength and it needs no batteries to function. Moreover, it is mainteinance free and has a virtually unlimited lifespan.
The recently introduced RECCO SAR helicopter detector, was designed to scan large areas fast for a missing person in the outdoors. It has been deployed and it is operative at several locations in the Alps, North America and Scandinavia, with the goal to increase globally and add constantly more countries and areas.
