The Perwanger tannery is a leather reality with behind a family tradition of more than two centuries, lovingly handed down from father to son for more than five generations since 1780. Born in the heart of the Italian Alps, in the village of Auer (BZ), begins to tan skins from local farmers as was tradition in every community to provide the local shoemaker craftsmen. In the early 70s, after many attempts and driven by his passion for mountains hikes, Josef Perwanger could give the water repellent proprieties to his leathers. Until then the climbers were forced to impregnate their boots with grease. Suede Nepal Perwanger was born. Thanks to the excellent water resistance and breathability and unique producing methods, the suede Nepal Perwanger is gradually into large-scale adopted in the mountain footwear, leisure and security shoes.

RECCO technology makes you searchable to professional rescuers in the event of an avalanche accident or when lost in the outdoors. Wearing gear equipped with RECCO reflectors enables professional rescuers to locate you with RECCO detectors. The technology is a two-part system, the detector sends out a directional radar signal like the beam of a flash light. Once the radar beam hits the RECCO reflector the signal is echoed back and directs the rescuer to your location.
RECCO handheld detectors, first introduced in 1983, are utilized today as a standard tool for avalanche rescue by mountain rescuers worldwide and are used at more than 800 ski resorts and mountain rescue organizations in 27 countries. The recently introduced RECCO SAR helicopter detector, was designed to scan large areas fast for a missing person in the outdoors. It has been deployed and is operative at several locations in the Alps, North America and Scandinavia, with the goal to increase coverage globally and add constantly more countries and areas to the list. (Check recco.com for the latest coverage info on the RECCO system).
For the user the RECCO reflector offers a simple solution to always be searchable. The reflector is a small band aid sized, passive electronic transponder that weighs less than four grams. Its factory mounted permanently to clothing and gear that in unlikely to be torn off in the event of an avalanche or other accident. This ensures the reflector can’t be left in the car, stashed mistakenly in the lodge or forgotten at home. It is a non-powered device meaning that it never needs to be switched on, will never loose signal strength and needs no batteries to function. It is maintence free and has a virtually unlimited lifespan.
The RECCO technology itself was invented by Mahnus Granhed with the cooperation of Stockholm’s Royal Institute of Technology in response to his personal experience with an avalanche tragedy in the 1970s. In 1983 the first working detector and reflector were presented and since then the system has proven itself effective in avalanche rescue and has been adopted globally by ski resorts, helicopter skiing operations and search and rescue organizations as an additional and important tool for avalanche rescue. When it comes to avalanche safety in general it is important to understand that RECCO technology is only a small part of the bigger picture of actions and equipment to minimize the risk for the user.

Recommended for: last dedicated to women with the Allux Valgus
From the beginning Asolo’s philosophy has been to develop innovative and technologically advanced footwear with great looks. Asolo pays particular attention to the natural flex of the foot while also making sure that performance and comfort of its footwear is maximized.
For this reason, the Asolo collection has been developed using 16 different lasts, each one with specific anatomical features sculpted to match defined user criteria and fit characteristics. The last are broadly defined by men’s, women’s and child’s fit, but also include regular, wide and bunion fit option in key styles.
Following our fit philosophy, Asolo engineered and developed a completely dedicated woman last with a particular focus on allux valgus. The word bunion comes from the Latin "bunio," meaning enlargement, and the medical term for the condition is "hallux valgus." About 10-25% of people have bunions, which can make your feet so sore that you can barely walk.
Bunions can lead to difficulties finding properly fitting footwear and may force a person to buy a larger size shoe to accommodate the width of the bunion. If the bunion deformity becomes severe enough, the foot can hurt in different places even without the constriction of shoes. It is then considered as being a mechanical function problem of the forefoot.
Best use: Low cut hiking shoe for fastpacking and speed hiking, excellent in rugged terrains.
Asolo’s footwear are made using outsole designed by Asolo. The Asolo Sigma Grip is an innovative exclusive Asolo compound that represents the most advanced traction system for all rugged terrains. THE END CONSUMER DRIVEN PROJECT:
In the last seven years Asolo has changed the conversation with its end-consumers involving them in strategic brand decision, product and technologies development. The new Supertrek Gtx has been developed together with 120.000 consumers who step by step followed and had been involved in the introduction of this new Adventure Lifestyle model.
The project started by receiving a picture from a photographer who was in Manhattan photo shooting a model with an urban outdoor style and wearing an old pair of Asolo boots: the Supertrek. The Supertrek model was one of the first model introduced by Asolo in the 1975 which combines water-resistant suede leather and Cordura material and it soon become an iconic model for the brand.
Original is Iconic. Iconic is timeless.
40 years later, Asolo together with its end-consumers re-introduce the old Asolo model. The product developing continued the conversation with end consumers and before proceeding with each engineering step, was asked to the consumers their preferences on the design, the outsole technologies and the colours of the model. The result is a model completely developed together with the community which will be in the Asolo 2023 Fall-Winter Collection: the spirit of old-school mountain style which not much changed from the original Supertrek makes this model a comfortable and lightweight model for wearing on city and on the trails.
The rubber outsole has been re-styled based on the original Supertrek (same design and lug’s height): it uses the Sigma Grip compound, a new high-performance rubber compound designed by Asolo to optimize the traction, grip and durability on each surface and activity.
